Unlike other products, our Balancer targets Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes), the primary bacteria associated with acne, without disturbing the skin’s delicate microbiome. What Are Bacteriophages? Bacteriophages, or simply “phages,” are viruses that exist in nature and are highly specialized to infect and destroy only bacterial cells, leaving human cells completely unaffected. Each bacteriophage is designed by nature to target a specific type of bacteria, making them extremely precise tools for bacterial control. Unlike antibiotics, which indiscriminately kill a wide range of bacteria—both harmful and beneficial—bacteriophages offer a targeted approach. This selectivity allows phages to preserve the delicate balance of the skin’s microbiome by leaving beneficial bacteria intact.
